More stock photos, videos and graphics
The free
version of Canva, while still generous in terms of royalty-free images and
graphics, limits you to a more basic library of stock images and graphics.
With Canva
Pro, you have a wide range of additional stock photos and graphics (over 100
million in total) and you also have access to a much larger audio and video
library.
Specifically,
Canva Pro gives you access to:

Over 6
million pre-licensed 4K and HD video clips.
The free
version of Canva doesn't really provide you with audio, and the number of free
videos available is extremely limited compared to the "Pro" version.
Considering
the cost of photos, videos and audio, access to such a vast library of content
for such a low monthly fee is one of the most compelling reasons to switch to
Canva Pro.
More templates
While
Canva's free plan gives you access to a large number of professionally designed
templates - over 250,000 - you get many more on the Canva Pro plan: over
610,000.
The magic resizing tools
Another
attractive aspect of Canva Pro is its Magic Resize feature, which allows you to
reuse existing designs for different platforms very easily.
Simply open
an existing design, then use Canva Pro's Magic Resize tool to automatically
reformat it to suit different social media channels and purposes. You can then
edit them all in one go, which is a huge time saver.
Background Removal
With the
Canva Pro package, you have access to a background removal tool. This tool is
particularly useful for easily creating headshots or thumbnails for YouTube
videos.
Customisable templates
While the
free version of Canva only allows you to work with pre-designed Canva
templates, in "Canva Pro" you can create fully customisable
templates. This means you can create reusable, fully branded templates that
work best for your organisation.
Storage and folders
With free
Canva, you get 5GB of storage, which you can use to store your own assets
(photos, videos, logos, etc). However, this capacity can be quickly used up if
you work with large assets, including videos and audio files.
Canva Pro
gives you a much more generous storage limit of 1 TB.
Customer support
All Canva
packages include access to email support, which is technically available 24
hours a day, 7 days a week.
However,
the response times are very different for "Canva Pro" and "Canva
Free". While with the Pro package you can expect a response to your
request within 24 hours, you can wait up to a week for help if you use
"Canva Free".
Users
Until very
recently, one of the main differences between the "Canva Pro" and
"Canva Free" plans was that the "Canva Pro" plan included 5
user accounts for only $12.99 per month. Unfortunately, this is no longer the
case, and both the "Canva Pro" and "Canva Free" plans only
include one user seat.
However,
the new "Canva for Teams" plan is competitively priced for teams with
up to 5 members - on this price point, you get 5 seats for $14.99 per month.
This means that for $3 a month each, 5 people can still get unlimited access to
all of Canva's premium features.
(If you
want to add more user accounts to your subscription, you do so for an
additional monthly fee - the additional fee per user depends on how many
accounts you want to add).
